a. The date of this year’s event will be July 14th and July 15th. This should provide us with some consistent warm weather. Although it is Washington, and one never knows.
b. Main Street/Rt. 203 will be closed from Woodinville-Duvall Road to NE 143rd Place between 8 am – 6 pm on Saturday, 7/14th .
c. If your business is located on Main St. between Valley and Virginia Streets, the sidewalk space in front of your building will be utilized for vendor booths. You have first option for this space. However you will need to complete a vendor application (included) and return it along with your payment by June 15th. Please let us know as soon as possible if this is your intention.
d. The event this year is expanding to two days. The second day will be the 1st Annual Country Classic Bike Ride. We anticipate approximately 800-1,000 riders. However it is the first year, so it is difficult to say. The ride will happen in the valley, but you should be prepared for the riders, especially if you provide food and drink services. More info can be found at www.ccb-ride.com.
e. We do have sponsorship available for the bike ride at very affordable rates, if you are interested in capturing some of that business.
f. The Country Livin’ Festival budget this year is $40,711. The City has granted us $11,500. This means we still need your support. We heard from so many of you that this is the most successful day of the year. So if you could give back anything to the event, it does make a difference.
g. Fireworks will happen again this year, if we can raise the money to pay for them. The fireworks show cost $3,000. (If you would like to be the full sponsor for this we can do that!)
h. Music will be in the park with a stage and we are working with local businesses that have expressed interest in being sponsors.
i. Thrive has again stepped up to manage the bouncy area that will be in the Union Bank parking area and the children’s area will run all through that parking lot up to Stephens Street.
j. We are adding in activities this year for the teens. Volleyball in the park, Sumo Wrestling, hay toss, mechanic’s creeper races.
k. We have our latest fundraiser back again this year – Running of the Balls, which is a play on Running with the Bulls, in case you missed that. We are asking certain local businesses to help us with selling tickets. If you would like to participate, please let us know. We have 1500 balls to sell. The balls are in the bright Country Livin’ colors and each will be numbered. At 4:30 pm on Saturday the balls will be released to roll down from 1st Ave NE on NE Stella Street – between The Duvall Grill and the Red Barn Learning Center building. The top prize will be $1,000, and we are looking for more prizes to give away as well. For those of you who are looking for ways to support, gift certificates would be very helpful, and/or other prizes. At 5:00 pm we will do the announcements of who won, and what they won. Our beloved Cow Pie Bingo will be back again this year in its original format.
l. We have secured additional parking this year to relieve some of the congestion on our side streets. CDK Construction will be allowing us to use their property on West Snoqualmie River Road for parking. There will be a nominal fee of $3.00 per vehicle, and we will have a shuttle running from this area to Main Street for safety.
m. We will be producing a door hanger listing this year’s events, and will be creating a more expansive marketing campaign.
n. We need people to be on the Duvall Days Board, Country Livin’ Festival steering committee and of course, volunteers.
Together we can make this the best
Country Livin’ Festival ever!
